Western Oregon Plan Revisions

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is presently revising six Districts' Resource Management Plans as a result of a lawsuit and settlement agreement. The plans cover over 2.5 million acres of public forest lands. Daylight Decisions, working under agreement with the U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution, designed and is presently implementing the public outreach strategy for the Plan Revisions. From its inception the project design has been collaborative, with BLM, its cooperating agencies, and the public.

Daylight Decisions is stretching the bounds of traditional public commenting through innovative web tools. These tools are currently being tested by the public before official release of the revised Resource Management Plans and draft Environmental Impact Statement. This approach allows us to utilize the real world insight of people that are affected by the Plan Revisions to improve the web tools for the official public comment period (summer 2007). Visit the WOPR Web Forum.
